Fancy Up Your Toast

Toast, the utilitarian and edible eating utensil, the trusty “sopper-upper” has risen to new levels within the brunch scene. To be completely honest I never totally understood the whole toast craze; I mean its basically an open- faced sandwich, right? No! Its so much more than that and its versatility is endless. Across the Atlantic its known as a tartine; a beautifully curated open faced sandwich, crafted with fresh and unique ingredients. I started experimenting with my own “special toast” most recently and found my favorite version to be the good old avocado seasoned with salt and chili flakes topped with a fried egg, smoked salmon and fresh baby arugula! Trust me its an amazing combo that’s not only filling but easy to make. So go ahead and try it I promise you won’t be disappointed. All hail the tartine!
