Spicy Chickpeas

Many days I come home from work as a social worker and I am completely “ruined”, spent, tired etc. On those days I know that need a rejuvenating and healthy meal that is also comforting. So often I turn to the quick and easy chickpea/ garbanzo bean whatever you want to call it. This little legume provides a hearty source of nutrition and stands up to the lightest and heaviest of sauce and seasonings. For this “quicky” meal here I sauté chick peas, white or yellow onion, olive oil, chili flakes, habanero powder (a pinch), garam masala spice, garlic powder, cinnamon (a touch) and some frozen peas. It turns out somewhat like a chickpea curry. Serve over rice or eat as is; however it can be a little spicy.. Enter the cucumber yogurt sauce made simply with plain Greek yogurt, onion powder, garlic powder, chopped cucumbers and a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. I added mint leaves for décor and also taste, but you can use any herb that you prefer. This meal literally takes only 30 minutes and its good for you and filling. Below I have provided a list of ingredients for you so you can get to cooking. Enjoy.
